Winter 2025 Newsletter

With the holiday whirl settling into a graceful lull, I invite you to join me in savoring the season’s quieter, more sensual delights. Picture this: a velvet settee by the fire, two glasses of mulled wine warming in our hands, and soft laughter drifting upward like sparks from the hearth. This is the heart of winter’s magic, where time slows, senses sharpen, and the slightest touch takes on deeper significance. There is a fine art to celebrating the cold, transforming it into a catalyst for intimacy and connection. After all, when nature dims her palette, it’s only natural we find color and warmth in each other.

Let us embrace winters hush as our secret playground. In a world briefly subdued by frost and whispering winds, we will carve out a space filled with laughter, desire, and the heat of passion. As the season’s long and seductive nights invite us to linger, imagine us sipping fine spirits, exchanging knowing smiles, and finding a rhythm uniquely our own. And if you dare step into this mystical world of quiet decadence, consider this greeting your invitation.

SEASON RECAP

First off, big family news: My sister gave birth to a baby boy, effectively turning me into the “cool mysterious aunt” figure I was always destined to be. Picture me, donning a stylish neckerchief, leaning nonchalantly against the wall sipping a cocktail as my nephew stares in awe at his worldly aunt who may or may not have an endless supply of quirky anecdotes (and an investment fund with his name on it).

Next highlight: Early December marked one gloriously pawsome year since rescuing my senior chihuahua, Ina. She’s now the queen of the household—tiny, toothless, and not afraid to demand her throne of plush blankets. Ina has taught me that second chances come in petite paw prints and that the best roommate is one who never hogs the remote (though she does demand belly rubs on cue).

Which brings me to my roommate moving out in mid-November. Adios to the awkward run-ins and safeguarding my stuff. I’ve reclaimed my home base, savoring the relief and calming solitude of living alone again. Think peaceful mornings, no unsolicited playlist battles, and no one judging my penchant for belting Annie Lennox and dancing half-naked in the kitchen. Absolute bliss.

Did I mention my sexy duo date in Manhattan with the mouthwatering and fascinating Adele Bardot? A few weeks ago, we spent an absolutely ravenous evening with one of my favorite gentlemen and let’s just say our chemistry was carnal and out-of-this-world. I can’t wait until another lucky person books us for a duo and gets to experience it in the flesh.

The months ahead are looking bright, despite the winter still looming. At the end of January, I’ll be popping up to Boston for a couple days to heat things up. Later on in mid-February, Miami is finally getting some love, as I escape the lingering winter chills. Toward the end of February I’ll be seeing Father John Misty live—music that’s sure to thaw any winter residue from my spirit. Finally, come mid-March, I’m headed to Los Angeles to visit my mom, and with her from there, head to Kern County meet my new nephew, closing out an eventful season.

Until next time, stay warm, stay wickedly cozy, and let’s keep the frost outside while we spark a little heat.

I’M LOVING…

Vanessa 5000 by Courtney Pauroso (Comedy Special)

In this special, Pauroso examines society's relationship with technology as sex robot Vanessa 5000. She embodies Vanessa with remarkable physicality, delivering jerky, mechanical movements that evolve into increasingly human-like gestures as the show progresses. As the show progresses, audience interaction amplifies a feeling of unpredictability. Vanessa begins to malfunction and the facade cracks, revealing a deeper commentary on technology and humanity. Pauroso's commitment to the role and her seamless blend of comedy and social critique make it a standout piece in contemporary clowning.

‘Mahashmashana’ by Father John Misty (Album)

Debut album by American singer-songwriter Sabrina Teitelbaum that packs a punch. The 90’s alt-rock influences are strong, as she navigates themes of addiction, tumultuous relationships, and other dark realities through introspective lyricism.

Walking Through Clear Water by Cookie Mueller (Book)

Reading Walking Through Clear Water in a Pool Painted Black felt like embarking on a wild, unfiltered journey through the countercultural landscapes of the 1970s and 1980s. Mueller's candid storytelling vividly captures her experiences, from her time as one of John Water’s beloved Dreamlander actors to navigating the bohemian scenes of New York and Provincetown. Her writing is imbued with a raw honesty and dark humor that bring to life the eccentric characters and tumultuous events she encountered. It is a window into Mueller's adventurous spirit but also serves as a testament to a life lived on the fringes.

“To be sensual, I think, is to respect and rejoice in the force of life, of life itself, and to be present in all that one does."

James Baldwin

Stay warm out there; perhaps our next encounter will melt the snow ;)
